Christmas 2011
We went to Mike's parents house for Christmas this weekend. It was a fun family time and Molly loved all of the time spent chasing her big girl cousins. We all got lots of great presents from generous family members and from Santa. Molly was especially excited about her new guitar, it's all she's been asking for this year.
Lauren and Molly playing the iPad and trying their best to share.
Trying her best to do exactly what big cousins Stephanie and Emmie are doing.
Oh Lukie, you are so cute!
All of the girl cousins on the Rowe side of the family. I could hardly get Molly to eat her dinner she just kept looking around and smiling.
Grandpa and Grandma Great, checking out their loot.
One of my goals for the weekend was to get a good picture of Molly with Grandma and Grandpa. This was the best I got, hopefully when the mister gets here there will be more opportunities.
Christmas morning. All of the bigger kids on the steps waiting to come down. Poor Luke was being woken up at this point due to the impatience of the others. Miss Molly was the first one up at 5:50!
Heading in to see what Santa left. Don't mind the giant belly to your right, thanks Mike!
Pure excitement upon seeing her new guitar. So fun to watch.
Checking out her stocking. She would pull out one thing and then want to play with it and have no interest in the rest so her stocking lasted over an hour.
We only did Santa presents and then stockings and then we all headed to church where Mike and his Mom sang a beautiful rendition of O Holy Night. Then it was home for the rest of the presents.
Showing off her new Rapunzel dress and doll. I'm not sure where this face comes from, I don't even think it looks like her.
Packers Game
A few weeks ago Mike and I traveled up to Wisconsin to attend the Packers game with Uncle Denny and Aunt Laurie. As usual we had a great time and the weather was actually the warmest it has ever been when we've been up there in December. The Packers had an impressive win over the Raiders and we had such a fun time. Special thanks to Grandma and Grandpa who kept Molly entertained and spoiled while we were away.

Sick day
Molly has a cough that makes her sound like an 85 year old who has smoked a pack a day for life. It really sounds bad with any kind of physical exertion, from laughing to dancing to running. So I'm trying to find activities that involve sitting still, which is difficult with this little wild one. So here is what we came up with. A camp out by the Christmas tree with the iPad. It's working well for now, any guesses on how long it will last?

Unfathomable
There has been a lot of talk about Albert Pujols in our house lately, wondering where he will go and what he will get paid. Mike is sad he is no longer a Cardinal but thankful that St. Louis isn't going to be tied up in a 10 year deal. I honestly haven't given it that much thought until I just did the math (cause I'm cool like that). Dude will be making $46 a minute for the next 10 years. I don't even know what to think about that.

A Day In The Life
So I have seen this idea on lots of blogs lately and I thought it would be fun to try. Basically I documented my day from morning till night and took pictures along the way. I realize that most
of this will be extraordinarily boring to most people, but might be fun to look back on someday.
Here goes:
6:45 am: Wake up when Mike gets out of bed to get in the shower. Lay in bed for 20 minutes planning the menu for a Christmas party we are hosting in a few weeks (this is a task that has occupied my mind A LOT lately).
7:05 am: Get out of bed, put on slippers and take to dog out. Wander around the house plugging in various Christmas lights and opening curtains.
7:10am: Pack Mike's lunch (leftovers from last night's dinner, yogurt and 2 pops) and make his breakfast (egg, ham and cheese on a Bagel Thin).
7:30am: Kiss Mike goodbye and contemplate emptying the dishwasher.
7:31am: Sit at the kitchen table with the iPad and read blogs, a chapter of my book and catch the weather on the Today show.
8:05am: Molly is awake. Go up and get her. Change her diaper and bring her down for breakfast, stopping along the way so that she can admire the Christmas tree. Fix her breakfast (raspberry yogurt, peanut butter toast and milk).
8:10-8:40 am: Molly is in her high chair eating breakfast and watching Little Bear (which I secretly love, it is so much less annoying than Dora, Gabba or Kai-Lan). Empty diswasher and wipe down kitchen counter. Eat my breakfast (Instant apple-cinnamon oatmeal and a diet cherry 7up).
8:55 am: Upstairs to get ready for the day. I take a quick shower while Molly plays in her room. This works well on days when I don't have to wash and dry my hair. She likes to sit at the little dressing table in her room that belonged to Great Grandma Duck.

9:15 am: Stop getting ready for a few minutes while having an impromptu dance party to Madonna's Immaculate Collection. I believe it is never too early to start your children on the classics.
9:35am: Get coats and shoes on and get ready to head out the door before realizing that I forgot to do my shot this morning. Take off my coat and do my shot while the dog is obnoxiously whining in anticipation of knowing he typically gets a treat when coats and shoes come out. This increases my stress level as I am already worried about being late to music class. Molly, oblivious to any of this takes the opportunity to stop and play with her princess refrigerator magnets.
9:40 am: Make it to the car, buckle up, start the ignition and remember with curse words running through my head that I need gas and was planning on allowing extra time to stop before music class.
9:40-9:45 am: Debate the options of stopping for gas before music class and potentially being a few minutes late or risking it and potentially running out of gas on the way there/
9:55 am: Arrive at music class, yeah it's only about 5 minutes away and we were still the first ones there. I might have an irrational fear of being late.

11:50am: Leave Molly in the family room in the middle of some sort of game she invented in which her princesses are swimming and then having check-ups at the doctor and go to make lunch. Molly gets tomotoes, cheese, peas, and red beans (most of her favorite foods). She is a picky eater which makes it difficult to introduce many new foods, but thankfully the foods she likes are pretty healthy. I get a vegetarian chicken sandwich and an apple.

12:00-12:30pm: Molly watches Caillou (I hate that show, but she loves it) while eating her lunch and I check my e-mail.

10:00-10:35am: Music class. This is one of my favorite times of the week. We go to the Musikgarten classes at Windsor Presbyterian church. There are 4 other kids in her class and it is a 15 week session so she really gets a chance to know the other kids and the teacher. We alternate between singing, playing instruments, dancing and learning about different rhythms. Molly absolutely loves it and I love watching her. She always asks as we are walking to the car "Can we go again?"
10:55-11:50am: Back home. Playing puzzles, reading, princesses, attack of the Mean Polar Bear, and some tickling.
12:30-1:00pm: Play with the nativity set and try to work on teaching the meaning of Christmas. This is hard. Anyone have good ideas about this? A good book perhaps?
1:00pm: Head upstairs for nap. Read 2 books (Deep in the Jungle and Merry Christmas Big Hungry Bear, neither that great, both from the library). Sing 2 songs (I'm a Little Tea Pot and Jingle Bells). Remind Molly to stay in bed and go to sleep. Head back down stairs.
2:15pm: Clean up kitchen, clean up toys in family room and continue to listen to Molly NOT nap on the baby monitor. All of this is done while watching recorded episodes of the Gilmore Girls (I have every episode of this show at least 5 times and I don't think I will ever get tired of it). (Mike hates it). Start addressing Christmas cards.
1:20pm: Fold a load of laundry while listening to Molly sing through the monitor.
1:45pm: Take clothes upstairs to put away, stick my head in Molly's room and remind her that this is sleeping time as she is currently standing up in bed making a puppet show with her socks on her hands.
1:50pm: Head back downstairs and make Chicken Bruschetta Casserole for dinner.
3:00pm: Go up and rescue this naughty girl from her bed. She hasn't slept a wink, but is remarkably happy and pleased with herself.
3:15pm: Fix a snack for Molly (apples and peanut butter).
3:30pm: Mike gets home, kiss them both goodbye and head to work.
7:20pm: Home from work. Get the worlds greatest hug from Molly (I love this time on Tuesdays because it is one of the only times I actually am apart from her so I get the excited to see me reaction). Change clothes and play for a while so that Mike can eat dinner.
7:40pm: Molly spends 20 minutes directing Mike and I in how to play with her stuffed animals.
8:00pm: Mike takes Molly to bed while I eat dinner. I enjoy listening to the story and songs through the monitor. Mike is much more animated than I am and sings much better songs (tonight it was Tiny Dancer).
8:20-9:30pm: Pick up the house, pack daycare bag for tomorrow (Wednesday's I work all day and Molly goes to an in home daycare), pack Mike and my lunch and sit to watch TV with Mike for a while.
9:30pm: Head upstairs and lay in bed for an hour talking to Mike, reading and watching TV.
10:30pm: Sleepy time!

This was fun to do. I realized a few things while doing this, mostly that I am incredibly blessed to spend my days the way that There is very little stress in my days with the exception of self-induced worrying about silly things. I'll have to redo this in a few months when the little guy is here to see how different it is!

Little Miss Dainty
Today Molly and I were cuddling on the couch and she burped right in my face. As I always do, I asked her "What do you say?" Without missing a beat she said "You're welcome." Umm, not exactly what I had in mind. I sternly suggested that she try again, but it was difficult with Daddy laughing across the room.
p.s. I'm working on a Thanksgiving post, but am having trouble with the pictures loading. Stay tuned.

Thanksgiving Part 2 (because part 1 isn't working)
So I have been trying to get a Thanksgiving post done for the last week and I can't get one set of my pictures to load to the blog. All of my pictures from the actualy holiday meal and most of the weekend aren't working, but I did get pictures from our Saturday night to work. On Saturday night we celebrated Lumpy's 60th birthday at home (it was back in September, but this was the first time we were all together). Then we headed to the Intrust Arena to watch the Wichita Thunder play in a hockey game. It is a bit of a family tradition and we all had a great time. The kids looked especially cute and Molly is still talking about "Funder Dog." I'll continue working on getting the rest of the pictures up.
